Ted Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy, the living embodiment of Camelot and the Kennedy mythology, have publicly backed Senator Barack Obama in his battle with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. In part this was a reaction to Bill Clinton’s crude behavior during the South Carolina primary campaign. However, it is also a recognition by some in the Democratic Party establishment that both Bill and Hillary Clinton were a destructive force in American politics, and should not be allowed another opportunity to inflict their unique brand of misery on the American people. The question is this: will Ted Kennedy make a difference?
Though many media pundits claim it will, I think they will be proven wrong. Ted Kennedy did make a difference in 2004, endorsing John Kerry in the Iowa primary. However, Super Tuesday is only one week away, involving 22 states. In most of those states Hillary Clinton has a significant lead over Barack Obama. With a recession looming and Bill Clinton remaining popular with most Democrats, I doubt many voters will be reflecting on the sage wisdom of Ted Kennedy, who has his own record of imperfections. We must also remember that Bill Clinton’s outbursts in South Carolina, which may have turned off some in the Democratic establishment, also positioned Barack Obama as the “Black” candidate, which the Clintons probably believe will suit their Super Tuesday strategy just fine.

It is not only the “Vast right-wing conspiracy” of Hillary’s imagination that speaks ill of the Clinton political dynasty. Shortly after the “pardongate” scandal in the last days of the first Clinton administration, New York Times columnist Bob Herbert, a scion of liberal journalism, denounced both Hillary and Bill Clinton as a “terminally unethical and vulgar couple.” The recent behavior of Bill Clinton on the campaign trail seems to validate the “terminal” character of Herbert’s evaluation of the Clintons.
In the wake of the machinations by both Hillary and Bill Clinton in using race and mud-slinging to derail the Obama campaign, liberal political journalist William Greider, who writes for The Nation, has written the following gem in his left-leaning publication about the morals and ethics of the Clinton couple: ” Duplicitous underneath, meanwhile jabbing hard at the groin area. They are a slippery pair and come as a package. The nation is at fair risk of getting them back in the White House for four years.”
Let us hope, for the sake of the Republic, that we don’t get them back for four or worse, eight years. While not whitewashing the terrible flaws of the George W. Bush administration, that America can survive. When it comes to a second Clinton administration, I am not so sanguine.

Hillary Rodham Clinton does have an economic program. It’s called: “Say and promise anything that will get me elected.”
With stock markets worldwide in panic and the housing and credit sector in the U.S. in meltdown, it is clear that America’s staggering economic challenges are now a key issue in the 2008 presidential campaign. For that reason alone Hillary Clinton is now pontificating on her so-called stimulus plans, hinting of her vast economic skills and knowledge.
How real is this Clintonian spin? As real as Bill Clinton saying he did “not have sex with that woman.” No matter how creative are Hillary Clinton’s army of PR gurus and spin-doctors, there is no record in her background that suggests a high level of ability in the field of economics. This is reflected in both her educational and professional background. Knowing how to get an $8 million contract for a book of “memoirs” actually written by three ghost writers may be evidence of individual entrepreneurship, but hardly qualifies as relevant to rescuing the American economy from a long-predicted recession that may be deeper and longer than our worst imaginations can at present foresee.
So, Hillary Clinton will now seize upon the nation’s economic distress as another campaign issue to ease her way back into the White House. However, in the final analysis, all Hillary Clinton has to offer on the economy is self-serving propaganda, not practical solutions. For on the day that the Fed cut its interest rate by 75 basis points, the official Hillary Clinton For President website had as its lead item another silly Clintonian contest, offering a chance to “win” a place at Hillary’s next debate to new contributors. Why let reality spoil the fun?

Now that Hillary Clinton will have to actually work to get the Democratic nomination, she is pulling all the stops to denigrate Barack Obama. Her main weapon in the battle with her primary Democrat nemesis is belittling his “experience,” at least compared to her own. However, this is a dance with falsification, for by claiming Obama is inexperienced, she is diverting scrutiny from her own lack of appropriate credentials for the presidency.
Hillary Clinton has, in recent media appearances, boasted of her vastly superior “35 years of experience.” However, what Hillary is really saying is that her experience consists of being married to serial philanderer, liar and narcissist Bill Clinton. After all, Hillary has never run a major organization, in either the private or public sector. Her vote in the U.S. Senate in favor of the Iraq war, without bothering to read the National Intelligence Estimate, hardly serves as proof of her qualifications for wise deliberation on matters of war and peace. Hillary Rodham Clinton is now claiming her vote for war was actually a vote for peace! Is this really 2008, or 1984 redux? Before voting for Hillary Clinton, have another look at the writings-and warnings-of George Orwell.

Defying polls and political pundits, the Clinton political machine scored an upset victory over Barack Obama in the New Hampshire primary. It looks like all those obituaries on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign were premature. A fierce two-way race is underway for the Democratic nomination.
Hillary Clinton and Obama will obviously try to learn lessons from their respective defeats in Iowa and New Hampshire, and fine tune their campaigns. What must be recognized is that the real prize is “Tsunami Tuesday,” February 5, when 20 primaries will be held. Though the race is a lot tighter than Hillaryland expected, the Clinton camp still holds an advantage over Obama in terms of infrastructure and political connections. What will unfold over the next four weeks is unpredictable.

The unthinkable may be about to happen. Clintonian hubris and arrogance may lead Hillary Clinton to another defeat at the hands of Barack Obama, in the critical New Hampshire primary. Already, one recent poll shows Obama sailing pass Hillary Clinton.
Panic seems to be taking hold of Hillaryland. Should she lose New Hampshire, it will be Obama who is the Democratic presidential front-runner. In that event, one of two things will happen: the Clinton campaign will implode, with mass defections from the Hillary to the Obama camp. However, with the Clintons there always remains the other imposing possibility: an unprecedented negative attack on Barack Obama. Whatever happens on Tuesday, I don’t expect Hillary Clinton to give up her life-long pursuit of the presidency without a vicious, merciless struggle.

Barack Obama won the Iowa caucus with a significant margin, and John Edwards took second place. Hillary Clinton’s third place finish, no matter how Hillaryland spins it, is a stinging reverse. So, it is now off to New Hampshire, where polls show Hillary still has a lead, but not by a wide margin.
Unless Hillary Clinton wins clearly in New Hampshire, her front-runner status will be terminated in favor of Obama. The question then is, what new tactics will the Clinton political machine now employ?

The latest Zogby poll has Hillary Clinton trailing behind both Obama and Edwards. So, what happens if she loses?
No doubt, her Democratic opponents will be energized, and feel they have momentum. However, two things must be recalled: The Clinton political machine is used to reverses, and knows how to overcome them. Additionally, the Clinton campaign always thought their chances in Iowa were iffy.
A Clinton loss in Iowa will be proclaimed as a major defeat for Hillary by the media. That pall of gloom will last until the New Hampshire primary; if Hillary Clinton’s firewall works there, her front-runner status will remain intact.
One thing is certain; wise observers will never count out the most ruthless political couple in America.

Responding to an Obama barb claiming her White House experience largely consisted of attending teas, Hillary Clinton shot back with bluster. Among her claims is that as First Lady, she risked her life for her country. Good Lord, Mrs. Clinton!
Just when one thinks Hillaryland has reached the physical limits of scientific possibility on uttering absurd claims, we now have Senator Clinton exceeding previously held benchmarks.
When running for Senator the first time in New York, Hillary Clinton claimed that she had been a life-long Yankees fan, even when growing up in Chicago. However, a presidential campaign requires a major escalation in rhetorical claims. So we now have Hillary Clinton claiming that in the first Clinton administration she displayed amazing feats of death-defying heroism.
So there you have it. The latest rationale to vote for Hillary Clinton is because she has displayed heroic courage. And if you were not aware of that amazing fact before, it is only due to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s penchant for displaying valorous levels of modesty and humbleness.
