Howard Wolfson, a key campaign strategist for Hillary Clinton, stated on national television interview that, “There’s a lot that voters don’t know about Barack Obama. And one thing they don’t know – we found out this week – is that he has been using and operating a so-called leadership PAC, in apparent contravention of campaign finance laws.”
With Obama maintaining a very narrow lead in the upcoming Iowa caucus, and Hillary’s lead in the New Hampshire primary narrowing, it appears that the Clinton political machine is becoming more bold and unrestrained in its attacks on Obama. Hillary Clinton stated sometime ago that when she is attacked, she will “deck” her opponents. Accusing her chief Democratic opponent of illegal campaign practices suggests where Hillary Clinton is going with her “decking opponents” philosophy.

One of the most notorious liars in politics is Bill Clinton, former president and (unfaithful) husband of Senator Hillary Clinton. It seems Bill Clinton just can’t change old habits. He recently announced that he had always opposed the Iraq war. Unfortunately, as with his earlier claim about “not having sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky,” the evidence of his contradiction soon emerged. Video and other material has surfaced that plainly shows that Bill Clinton was originally in support of George Bush’s policies on Iraq, including the invasion. Hillary Clinton’s husband even wrote an op-ed piece for a British newspaper applauding Tony Blair for standing with George Bush on Iraq.
Hillary Clinton’s main claim for being “exceptionally” qualified for the presidency is that she leaned everything one must know while being at Bill Clinton’s side. Perhaps Hillary Clinton learned the art of contradiction, though possibly in a more nuanced manner than President Bill Clinton.

On CBS “Face The Nation,” key campaign advisors from the Clinton and Obama camps duked it out. In a sign that the Clinton political machine is ratcheting up its attacks on Barack Obama, a charge of Obama using PAC money to influence early primary states was repeated. According to the official Hillary Clinton website, “After initially denying any involvement with the PAC called Hopefund, the Obama campaign has now conceded that it encouraged the PAC to give political donations to officials in early states. The acknowledgement raises questions about whether the PAC has been used as a slush fund to benefit the Obama campaign.”
The Hillaryland folks maintain that this contravenes federal election law. Clearly, this campaign is going to get a lot nastier as we shortly enter the first electoral contests of the 2008 presidential campaign. One thing is certain. Hillary Clinton will not hesitate to use any ammunition at her disposal to diminish Obama’s standing.
