Clinton Double Talk In Philadelphia

1 comment October 31st, 2007

The Democratic candidates’ debate last evening in Philadelphia displayed a common Clinton trait, exhibited by both Bill and Hillary. It is the political art of talking out of both sides of one’s mouth. Hillary Clinton provided a conspicuous example, when asked why she had supported a plan by the Governor of New York to provide drivers licenses to illegal aliens.

Hillary’s reply was no, she didn’t support the idea and, yes, she did. Her self-contradictory response was so convoluted, it appeared deliberately designed to confuse the listeners, so they would choose to believe whatever answer pleased them.

Hillary Clinton cannot base her campaign on a factual exposition of proven and outstanding leadership qualities. This explains why much of her campaign effort has been directed at trivialities, such as acting with her husband in the role of gangsters in a video take-off on the Sopranos, posted on YouTube. She has held contests on her website, including one to select the official Hillary Clinton campaign song. However, precious little is displayed on matters of substance. In essence, we have a candidate who is all PR spin and contrived posturing, while lacking even a hint of grand vision or outstanding record of national achievement.

Hillary Clinton’s Orwellian double-speak in Philadelphia is a hint of what kind of presidency she would offer. An even darker hint is the speech she delivered in the Senate justifying her vote in favor of authorizing Bush to launch America’s disastrous war in Iraq in the fall of 2002. There were actually portions of her speech suggesting why she would vote against initiating the war!

It seems that when it comes to matters of illegal immigration or war and peace, Hillary Rodham Clinton has eyes in back of her head as well as in front, so that she can always present two faces to the world. A two-faced politician is not the embodiment of leadership excellence.

Is Hillary Clinton Baiting Barack Obama?

2 comments October 30th, 2007

Hillary Clinton’s political machine, with obvious input from Bill Clinton, seems to be following an old football stratagem, the so-called “Hail Mary Pass.” With the nomination all but assured even if Hillary were to lose in Iowa, she recognizes what everyone else does; if Barack Obama loses in Iowa, the ballgame is over. Even Senator Obama’s campaign advisors are in recognition of that stark reality, reflecting the pressure they are applying on their candidate to aggressively attack Hillary Clinton. The problem with that approach is that they are falling into the proverbial Clintonian trap.

Ever since Barack Obama entered the presidential race as the primary Democratic opponent to Clinton rule, the Clinton political machine has had two over-riding objectives: Reconstruct Hillary’s image while deconstructing Barack Obama’s aura as the apostle of the “politics of hope.” Since the summer, Hillary has been doing everything possible to entice Obama into attacking her, including casting aspersions on his competence and portraying him as hopelessly inept on foreign policy. Hillary Clinton has effectively portrayed Senator Obama, to a large proportion of the electorate, as naive and inexperienced on foreign affairs, while distracting voters from her own grave intellectual deficiencies. This has translated into a Clinton lead

over Obama of 30 points, making a mockery of Obama’s fundraising success.

If Barack Obama falls for the trap and begins to aggressively attack Hillary Clinton in a manner that can be deemed personal, this will be the answer to Hillary’s prayers. They will waste no time in using Barack’s barbs as ammunition on the campaign trail, and as a lance aimed right at Obama’s viability in Iowa.

Liberal New York Times Columnist On Bill Clinton: “The man is so thoroughly corrupt it’s frightening.”

2 comments October 26th, 2007

Bob Herbert, the eloquent and passionate columnist with The New York Times, can never be accused of being part of Hillary Clinton’s “vast right-wing conspiracy.” He is as liberal as journalists come, a consistent and vehement critic of the Republican Party and President George W. Bush. That is why his column of February 26, 2001 should be required reading for every American of voting age seriously considering casting their ballot for Hillary Rodham Clinton.

That column of Herbert’s, “In America; Cut Him Loose,” was written in the midst of the pardongate scandal. For those who have forgotten, and it is challenging to keep track of all the Clinton scandals, this was Bill Clinton’s parting gesture of contempt towards the American people during literally the final hours of his sleazy and philandering presidency. A host of last minute presidential pardons were granted to a host of shady characters. They included a fugitive billionaire who had once been on the FBI list of ten most wanted, as well as a quartet of swindlers who had stolen tens of millions of dollars in tax payers money.

The connection between both Bill and Hillary Clinton and those pardoned prompted Herbert to write the following in his column: “The Clintons can spin this however they want. But the simple truth is that the way in which some of the pardons were granted seems to fit neatly with the standard definition of a bribe, which is the promise of money or gifts — something of value — to influence the action or behavior of an official.”

Pardongate generated so much outrage in America, it appeared that the Clintons were finished as a political couple. “Bill Clinton has been a disaster for the Democratic Party. Send him packing,” Bob Herbert warned the Democratic Party. He added that, “As neither Clinton has the grace to retire from the scene, the Democrats have no choice but to turn their backs on them. It won’t be easy, but the Democrats need to try.”

Sadly, seven years later, the Democratic Party has not turned its back on the Clintons. It has welcomed Bill Clinton back on the altar as the rock-star among Party stalwarts, and is on the verge of handing Hillary Rodham Clinton its presidential nomination, virtually on a silver platter.

George Satayana, the Spanish-American philosopher, once warned that those who forget the errors and sins of the past are condemned to repeat them. Is this the “change” the Democrats are promising in 2008? It may prove to be a fatal flirtation with deja vu for the American people.

Hillary Clinton On Health Care

2 comments October 25th, 2007

Health Care is shaping up to be a major campaign issue in the 2008 presidential race. Hillary Clinton has positioned herself to take full advantage of the public’s general dissatisfaction with the current health care methodology in America. Hillaryland is now cleverly exploiting her previous disastrous leadership role in the first Clinton administration’s attempt to bring about a form of universal health care in America. As the likely Democratic presidential nominee, she will point to “scars” from her previous battle with the Republicans over health care, and translate that scar tissue into a multitude of votes. In all probability, the Republican nominee, whoever it may be, will not be competitive on the issue, but merely offer some revamping of the strictly private health care currently on offer in America.

Health care is a vital issue for any society, and the question of universal health care a worthy issue for national debate. With nearly fifty million uninsured American citizens despite America spending vastly more per capita on health care than any other nation on the planet, serious and thoughtful discussion should be part of the national debate in 2008. However, is Hillary Clinton the national political figure who can be trusted to lead this debate? As with so much else about the Hillaryland agenda, Senator Clinton’s espousal of health care has a contrived character. Even the way she introduced her current health care plan, after all her Democratic opponents had already laid their ideas on the table, smacked of Clintonian manipulation and public posturing. Many dub her ideas “Hillary Care,” reflecting the deep distrust many American citizens harbor towards Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A cynically manipulative former First Lady, with a track record of political deviousness and chicanery, is not the prescription for America’s health care ills.

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Marriage To Bill Clinton

2 comments October 23rd, 2007

Hillary Clinton has been married to Bill Clinton for 32 years. In that long period of marital bliss, their relationship brought one child into this world, took gubernatorial power in Arkansas, and secured two terms of presidential power in Washington. Quite a productive relationship, it would appear.

Like many marriages in contemporary America, Hillary Clinton’s union with husband Bill has had a few rocky patches. According to informed observers, there have been many marital infidelities committed by William Jefferson Clinton, one of which he publicly confessed to after first issuing an adamant denial, when confronted with irrefutable (if downright sleazy) forensic DNA evidence. No doubt, Hillary Rodham Clinton must have been utterly humiliated by such an episode. Yet, she stuck by him, being the loyal Clintonian wife. Why?

As a trained lawyer, Hillary Clinton is undoubtedly familiar with divorce law. She could have divorced Bill Clinton at any time or at least separated. However, like super-glue, she chose to bear the public humiliations imposed on her by Bill Clinton and stick with him. Either Hillary Clinton is an unusually forgiving and loyal human being or one who is so infatuated with power, she will bear the burden of being the wife Bill Clinton can cheat on, in exchange for the gift former President Clinton can bestow, which is sweeter to Hillary than marital fidelity. That gift is called the U.S. presidency.

To be brutally candid, without Bill Clinton’s brand name and political connections and expertise, a mere Hillary Rodham would find her presidential campaign transformed from front-runner status to dead bottom last easy as toast.

If Hillary Clinton is so absorbed with power at the highest level that she would endure the sleazy humiliations imposed by an unfaithful husband, is she truly the best example of leadership that America is capable of producing in November 2008? Think on that one hard, fellow American. Otherwise, the nation is in for another 8 years of Clinton psychodrama. In the dangerous world that now exists, that seems like an extravagant and reckless gamble with America’s future.

Does Questioning A Second Clinton Presidency Mean You’re Crazy?

2 comments October 22nd, 2007

Recently a major national magazine labeled three people who are opposed to Hillary Clinton becoming America’s 44th president as part of a “kooky clique.” As the author of “Hillary Clinton Nude,” I happen to be one of this “gang of three.” It seems that if you can’t beat them with logic, just call them names.

The possibility that, for a second consecutive time, a previous occupant of the White House will have a close relation follow him should be a matter of serious national debate. The fact that opponents of Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambitions can be characterized as “crazy” by the national media reflects the deplorable state of political discourse in America. If anything, responsible media should be encouraging thoughtful debate on the advisability of having the Clintons regain control of the White House for potentially another 8 years. That is exactly what I try to do with my book. “Hillary Clinton Nude” poses challenging questions on the advisability of trusting America’s future to Hillary Rodham Clinton at this critical time. Perhaps those in the media who refuse to critically engage on this vital matter of Clinton rule should reexamine their role in the upcoming national debate. Being engaged rather than calling Hillary Clinton’s critics “kooks” would be a far more responsible-and patriotic-role for American journalism to follow.

Nearly seven years ago Bob Herbert, a liberal journalist, who certainly is not part of a “kooky clique,” wrote the following in his column in The New York Times:

“The Clintons Are A Terminally Unethical And Vulgar Couple, And They’ve Betrayed Everyone Who Has Ever Believed In Them.”

More than a year to go before the 2008 election, in which it is all but certain that Hillary Rodham Clinton will be the Democratic Party’s nominee. Already, however, thousands of Americans are thinking about what is at stake in 2008. This is reflected by the many thousands who have viewed the video description of the only book that presents a non-partisan case against a second Clinton presidency in America. A recent milestone was passed when the number of viewers of “Hillary Clinton Nude” on YouTube passed the 15,000 mark.

Hillary Clinton Keeps Media At Arms Length While Campaigning

2 comments October 21st, 2007

According to a report on NPR (National Public Radio), Hillary Clinton has kept the media at a distance, while conducting her 2008 presidential campaign. In fact, NPR reports, she has held fewer press conferences and Question & Answer sessions with reporters than any of the other Democratic presidential candidates.

Hillary Clinton’s restricted access to journalists is clearly part of the master plan by Hillaryland. They have no interest in an open debate, or providing the electorate with the information it requires to make an informed decision. The PR wizards working for Hillary want only a carefully contrived image of their candidate to be presented to the American people. Curious reporters doing their job will just get in the way, so Hillaryland will only grudgingly provide carefully controlled access. If Hillary Clinton is elected the nation’s 44th president, this is a preview of how her administration will control information, and more importantly, how secretive a President Hillary Clinton would be.
