Is Hillary Planning A Dirty War Against Her Democratic Rivals?

One of the most important players in Hillaryland is Mark Penn. He is the CEO of the international public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, as well as president of the polling firm of Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates. You might think he has plently on his plate. But actually, he has another job, as Hillary Clinton’s chief pollster and one of her principal campaign strategists. According to reports surfacing in the media, Penn has been conducting polling on possible attack messages directed against Barack Obama and John Edwards, Senator Clinton’s most serious challengers for the Democratic nomination in 2008.
Might this be a hint of how Hillary will be spending those tens of millions of dollars she has raised for her television advertising blitz coinciding with the approaching primaries? No less an authority than Hillary Clinton herself stated publically that when she is under attack, she will “deck” her opponents. Some will say she was referring to Republicans. That might be wishful thinking on the part of some anti-Hillary Democrats.
The Clinton political machine obviously intends to wage a ruthless, aggressive campaign to secure the Democratic nomination for Hillary as soon as possible. If she indeed turns negative on her fellow Democrats duirng the primaries, take this as a trial run on a much more negative advertising strategy Hillary will unleash on the Republican Party and whoever their presidential nominee is in 2008.
If you thought Bill Clinton was “Slick Willie,” I think Hillary Rodham Clinton will surprise and shock many, as the 2008 presidential campaign season unfolds in all its glorious primary colors.
