Super Tuesday Now History

February 6th, 2008

While Hillary Clinton still remains a serious contender for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination now that Super Tuesday is behind us, so does Barack Obama. In that sense, Hillary Rodham Clinton sustained a major defeat on February 5. Her whole campaign strategy was based on firming up the nomination on Super Tuesday, then shifting gears to focus on the general election. Instead, she is locked in a grim battle of attrition with Obama, who is now raising significantly more money than Hillary, while becoming better known among the electorate.

Despite the intrusion of reality, the megalomania of Hillary Clinton still remains potent. An indication of that is her decision to “loan” her own presidential campaign $5 million of her personal money in a futile attempt to keep pace with Barack Obama’s massive fundraising success. In the meantime, Bill Clinton remains muzzled-for now. However, in her desperation, it is very likely that Hillary Clinton and her political machine will find some new, cleverer method to go negative on Obama.
